2015 also brought some surprising shifts in plastic surgery trends. The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery turned heads and headlines when its annual survey revealed butt augmentation procedures rose a whopping 86%.
The question now is what will 2016 bring? Here are 3 of our predictions for the year ahead based on trends at our Albany practice:
- Non-surgical treatments continue their ascent. In recent years, we have seen increased requests for non-surgical fat reduction, such as CoolSculpting, as well as non-surgical facial rejuvenation. We are expecting that trend to continue into the next year, with new treatments like KYBELLA, the newly FDA-approved injectable for the double chin, leading the way.
- Smaller Breasts. Breast augmentation remains popular in the Capital Region, but more women are requesting smaller, natural-appearing enhancement over supersized implants that were popular in the past. As a result of this trend, we also expect to see an increase in breast augmentation revision cases as well as breast reductions.
- Butt augmentation continues its rise. Today, women desire a balanced contour, and that includes their back-side. We are seeing a continued increase in requests for butt augmentation and butt lift procedures, and we anticipate this will extend over the next 12 months.
